APS Adult Autism Program
Coming soon to our Ivyland location 2011!
Mission Statement: The new APS Adult Autism Program will provide adults with Autism
training and support in communication, computer skills, arts, nutrition, and overall well-being
so that they can learn to live and work independently and be involved in their community.
The program will be highly individualized with a staffing ratio of 1:3 to meet each person’s needs
and to expand upon their interests in ways that may lead to competitive employment and independent living.
Program Areas:
- Computer Lab
- Culinary Arts
- Student Lounge
- Exercise Room
- Movement, Music, and Art Therapy
- Sensory Room
- Outdoor Garden/Greenhouse
Basic Entrance Criteria:
- BAS waiver funding for Day Habilitation or ability to private pay
- Independent in ADLs (eating, toileting, medication, etc)
- Ability to express desire to participate in the program
- Has not been a danger to themselves or others or in danger of elopement within the last 12 months.
